Lane and ramp closures at Hwy 169/I-494 occur Aug. 23
Eastbound I-494 lane closures will continue through Aug. 25
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays as ramp and lane closures occur at the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie overnight Thursday, Aug. 23.
The loop ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close at 11:45 p.m. so crews can install overhead signage above the ramp. During the closure, access from Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will be available via Hwy 212.
The loop ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
In addition, lane closures on eastbound I-494 will occur between Prairie Center Drive and East Bush Lake Road beginning at 7 p.m. The roadway will be reduced to a single lane overnight. All but one lane will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
The right lane of eastbound I-494 will remain closed throughout the day on Friday, Aug. 24. The roadway will again be reduced to a single lane at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. Saturday,
Aug. 25.
The lane closures are necessary as crews relocate barriers and pave the roadway.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
