Southbound I-35E/Maryland Avenue ramps to open late Aug. 20
ST. PAUL, Minn. —The ramp from southbound I-35E to Maryland Avenue and the ramp from Maryland Avenue to southbound I-35E will reopen by 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
Crews over the weekend used an automated machine called a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) to move the new Maryland Avenue Bridge into position. The two 1,300-ton spans, built alongside I-35E, were moved into place using this new construction technology.
Both directions of Interstate 35E between Hwy 36 and I-94 reopened late on Aug. 18.
