Hwy 55/Hiawatha Avenue closure occurs Aug. 19-20
Closure needed for Martin Olav Sabo Pedestrian Bridge maintenance
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience a closure and detour on both directions of Hwy 55/Hiawatha Avenue between E. 26th Street and E. 28th Street in Minneapolis as the roadway closes at 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
During the closure, a posted detour will direct motorists to use E. 26th Street, Cedar Avenue and E. 28th Street. Pedestrians are advised to follow posted detours to cross Hwy 55/Hiawatha Avenue at E. 28th Street.
The closures are needed for maintenance work on the Martin Olav Sabo Pedestrian Bridge. The roadway will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
