Hwy 61 resurfacing project begins July 16
Expect detours

ROSEVILLE, Minn.--Motorists may experience delays on Hwy 61 between Hwy 96 and Hwy 97 in White Bear Lake, Hugo and Forest Lake beginning Monday, July 16.

Starting July 9 motorists may experience shoulder closures as crews grade the roadway and replace culverts beneath residential driveways. Flaggers will be present throughout the week to safely direct traffic at 4 Hwy 61 locations as crews cut the roadway.

Motorists will not see significant traffic impacts until July 16.

Crews will resurface the roadway to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

In addition, the traffic signal at Hwy 61 and Buffalo Street will be replaced. The project will include culvert replacements, and ADA and drainage improvements.

Full closures of Hwy 61 will occur during culvert replacements, and detours will be posted.

The project will be completed by late-October.
