Updated: Hwy 169 access closure project begins July 15

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience a ramp closure on northbound Hwy 169 in St. Louis Park as a project to close freeway access at West 22nd Street and West 23rd Street begins the week of July 15.

A lane closure on northbound Hwy 169 will occur overnight during the first night of the project as crews set up barrier to close the ramp/frontage road. The frontage road will remain closed throughout the entire project and access to and from northbound Hwy 169 will be permanently closed.

Crews will work during daytime hours to resurface the frontage road and construct a visual barrier between the frontage road and Hwy 169.

The project will permanently close access to and from northbound Hwy 169 to enhance safety for the local neighborhood residents and motorists. The ramp/frontage road will become a local roadway. The resurfacing will create a smoother ride for motorists and extend the lifespan of the pavement. The entire project is expected to be completed by early September.
