Highwood Avenue closes at Hwy 169 Aug. 3-6
Highway 169 lane closure is also scheduled
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists on westbound Highwood Drive in Bloomington will encounter a closure as the right turn to northbound Highway 169 closes at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.
Motorists should follow the posted detour route to access northbound Highway 169:
- Eastbound Highwood Drive to northbound West Bush Lake Road to westbound W. 78th Street to westbound Valley View Road
Additionally, at the same time on Aug. 3 the right auxiliary lane of northbound Highway 169 will close between Highwood Drive and Interstate 494.
Motorists will still be able to access eastbound Highwood Drive from northbound Highway 169 during the closure.
Both Highwood Drive and all lanes of northbound Highway 169 will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6.
Part of the Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closures are necessary as crews continue work on area freeway ramps.
The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
