Ramp closure at Highway 169/Interstate 494 occurs July 31
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a detour on northbound Highway 169 in Bloomington and Edina when the loop to westbound Interstate 494 closes at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 31.
During the closure, access from Highway 169 to westbound I-494 will be available via Highway 212.
The loop will reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Part of the Highway 169/I-494 Interchange Reconstruction project, the closures are necessary as crews pour the bridge deck for the ramp from westbound I-494 to northbound Highway 169.
The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
