Local street near Hastings Bridge to close overnight beginning July 29
Closures of Lock and Dam Road needed for painting of new Hastings Bridge arch ribs
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists traveling near downtown Hastings may encounter a road closure at Lock and Dam Road near the Hastings Bridge project’s Flint Hills staging area starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 29.
The road will reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday, July 30. Similar overnight closures are possible through Sunday, August 12. The closures are needed as crews paint the arch ribs of the new Hwy 61 Hastings Bridge and will be determined by weather.
Access to and parking at the Jaycee Park, including the boat launch will remain available during this time. The pedestrian and bicycle path will also remain open, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to travel around the staging area.
As is expected for the entire project, two-way traffic will remain across the river during rush hours, and access to local businesses and residences will not be affected.
