Ramp closures at Hwy 62/100 interchange to occur July 20-22
Overnight ramp closures also scheduled for westbound Hwy 62 July 18 and 19
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and detours at the Hwy 62/100 interchange in Edina as various ramps close this weekend.
The following ramps will close at 8 p.m. Friday, July 20:
- The ramps from northbound and southbound Hwy 100 to eastbound Hwy 62.
- Detour: Westbound Hwy 62 to the Hwy 169 interchange to eastbound Hwy 62
- Westbound Hwy 62 to southbound Hwy 100.
- Detour: Westbound Hwy 62 to the Hwy 169 interchange to eastbound Hwy 62 to southbound Hwy 100
- Eastbound Hwy 62 to northbound Hwy 100.
- Detour: Eastbound Hwy 62 to Valley View Road to westbound Hwy 62 to northbound Hwy 100
In addition, the ramps at the Valley View Road, France Avenue and Penn Avenue interchanges at Hwy 62 also are likely close for a short period. Motorists at any of these closed ramps will be detoured to Xerxes Avenue.
The closures are needed for concrete work as part of the Hwy 62 resurfacing project. All ramps will reopen by late Sunday, July 22, weather permitting.
Before the weekend ramp closures, motorists should also be aware that ramps along westbound Hwy 62 at the interchanges between Penn Avenue and Tracy Avenue may close overnight July 18 and July 19 for resurfacing. Closures will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.
After the work on the ramps has been completed, crews will be conducting concrete work along the shoulders of both directions of Hwy 62 between Tracy Avenue and Penn Avenue July 23-27. Shoulder closures may remain in place throughout the week to allow the concrete to set, and motorists should use caution when driving through the area.
The Hwy 62 Better Roads project will resurface the roadway and ramps to create a smoother roadway and extend the lifespan of the pavement. The project will also upgrade accessibility for pedestrians and revise traffic signals at four interchanges. The entire project is expected to be completed by early August.
