Daytime flagging and overnight closure of local street to begin July 17
Flagging and closures on 2nd Street needed for grout work for new Hastings Bridge

(Roseville, Minn.) – Motorists traveling near downtown Hastings will encounter a flagging crew at 2nd Street from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17.

In addition, there will be overnight detours as the road will be closed between Eddy Street and Sibley Street starting at 10 p.m. between Wednesday and Friday.

All lanes will reopen daily by 8 a.m., and parking will remain available on 2nd Street immediately east of the bridge (from the east access ramp to Sibley Street) for those visiting businesses in the area. Drivers can access downtown Hastings at 3rd Street or 4th Street.

The closure is needed as crews do grout work on the new Hwy 61 Hastings Bridge’s south approach spanning 2nd Street.
As is expected for the entire project, two-way traffic will remain across the river during rush hours, and access to local businesses and residences will not be affected.

Travelers and residents with questions are encouraged to call the Hastings Bridge Project Hotline at 651-775-5244 or visit the project’s web site at
