Overnight ramp closure scheduled for I-494/Hwy 169
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a detour on eastbound I-494 when the ramp to southbound Hwy 169 closes at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 7.
During the closure, motorists should follow the posted detour route:
- Eastbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 100 to westbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 169
The ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. Friday, June 8.
Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 Interchange Reconstruction project, the closures are necessary as crews shift traffic onto newly paved portions of the roadway.
Additionally the ramp will close between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Saturday, June 9 as crews install a sanitary sewer under the roadway. The same detour will be utilized.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
