Section of I-35E reducing to single lane July 13-16
Maryland Avenue Bridge replacement prompts closures
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists in the eastern metro area will experience delays at 10 p.m. Friday, July 13 as crews remove the Maryland Avenue Bridge spanning I-35E.
Both directions of I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between Arlington Avenue Cayuga Street.
Northbound and southbound I-35E traffic will bypass the Maryland Avenue closure by traveling up and down the Maryland Avenue ramps.
A posted detour will guide Maryland Avenue traffic across the freeway via Edgerton Street, Arlington Avenue and Jackson Street.
All lanes of I-35E are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 16.
On July 17, the ramp to southbound I-35E from Maryland Avenue and the ramp from Maryland Avenue to southbound I-35E will close as crews rebuild Maryland Avenue between L’Orient Street and I-35E. The ramps will reopen by Aug. 20.
The new Maryland Avenue Bridge spanning I-35E will remain closed through early September 2012.
