Hwy 65 project begins June 6 in north metro
Expect single-lane traffic from mid-June through late August

(Roseville, Minn.) – Hwy 65 motorists in the northern Twin Cities Metro Area may encounter delays as a concrete overlay project surface begins Wednesday, June 6 between 215th Ave. NE in East Bethel and the Anoka/Isanti County line, just north of 237th Ave. NE (Anoka County Road 24).

Initial lane closures will take place during non-rush hours on weekdays between June 6 and June 20 as crews construct crossover lanes and build temporary traffic signals.

After June 20 traffic in both directions will be reduced to a single lane on the southbound lanes between the two points as the northbound lanes are rehabilitated. When complete, traffic will switch to the northbound/ lanes and the southbound then are rehabilitated.

This concrete overlay project will result in a much longer life and a smoother ride on this segment of Hwy 65.

The project also will lengthen turn lanes to improve safety at the major intersections.

The entire project is expected to be completed by late August.
