Hwy 12 rumble strips project begins June 15
Work will occur during a weekend full closure of Hwy 12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and a weekend closure on Hwy 12 between just west of Old Crystal Bay Road and Wayzata Boulevard W. in Long Lake, Orono and Wayzata as a project to add centerline rumple strips and restripe the roadway begins Friday, June 15.
The work will occur during a weekend closure of Hwy 12. Hwy 12 will be closed in both directions between County Road 6/6th Avenue N. and Wayzata Boulevard from 8 p.m. Friday, June 15 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 18. During the closure a posted detour will direct motorists to use County Road 6/6th Avenue N. and Wayzata Boulevard to bypass the closure.
The work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather. The project will be completed after the weekend closure.
The project will add rumble strips, or rows of indents in the pavement that alert motorists through noise and vibration, to the centerline of the roadway to improve safety and reduce crashes by further separating opposing traffic and alerting inattentive motorists.
