I-494 overnight lane closures occur May 9
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays on I-494 between Prairie Center Drive in Eden Prairie and West Bush Lake Road in Bloomington as both directions of I-494 are reduced to a single lane beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 9.
An earlier lane closure that evening will also occur on westbound I-494 beginning at 7 p.m. in the same location.
All lanes of I-494 will reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday, May 10.
Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is necessary as crews pour the deck on the new bridge from westbound I-494 bridge to southbound Hwy 169.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
