Overnight closures ahead for I-694, Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Removal of a portion of the east side of the Lexington bridge over I-694 in Arden Hills will require overnight closures of both the bridge and I-694 this week. Both directions of Intestate 694 beneath the Lexington Avenue bridge will close overnight on Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day. I-694 will be restricted to a single lane at 8 p.m. both days.
During the I-694 closure, traffic will detour up and down the ramps at the I-694/Lexington Avenue interchange. Lexington Avenue will close at Gramsie Road on the north and at Red Fox Road on the south so a portion of the bridge deck can be safely removed. Motorists on Lexington Avenue should use County Road F or County Road E to Victoria Street as their alternative route during the overnight closures.
The Lexington Avenue bridge project, which began in early May, will add dual left turn lanes and an improved bicycle/pedestrian crossing over I-694. Work includes upgrades to the signal system and the ramps to and from the freeway. The project will be completed by mid-July. Access to the pedestrian/bicycle lane will be maintained during construction.
