Interstate 35E/County Road J ramp reopens early
I-35E resurfacing/concrete rehab nears completion in the north metro
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Interstate 35E motorists will once again experience reconnected access to County Road J in the northern metro area as the ramp reopened earlier today.
The I-35E/County Road J ramp was schedule to reopen on Monday, May 21.
Crews continue to resurface I-35E between County Road 96 in White Bear Lake and the northern I-35/I-35E/I-35W junction in Columbus. The County Road J ramp was the remaining ramp to close and reopen on this project.
Northbound I-35E may reopen to two lanes by as early as May 25. Southbound I-35E will remain a single lane through approximately June 4 as crews remove traffic control and apply permanent pavement markings.
The goals of this project are to reconstruct I-35E between Columbus and White Bear Lake. It includes extending the life of the pavement by removing the existing blacktop and replacing it with a new concrete overlay and improving ride quality. The project will also replaces the box culvert carrying Clearwater Creek beneath I-35E.
