Short-term I-35E ramp closure starts tomorrow in northern Metro area
I-35E resurfacing continues, on target for early June substantial completion
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists in the northern metro area may experience delays as the ramp from northbound I-35E to Ramsey County Road 96 closes at 4 a.m. Friday, April 20.
The ramp closure is needed as crews prepare the ramp for resurfacing. The ramp from Ramsey County Road 96 also is closed, but both ramps are scheduled to reopen by Thursday, May 3, weather permitting.
Additional I-35E ramp closures also are scheduled: Anoka County 14/I-35E ramps are scheduled to close from April 25 to May 8. The I-35E/Ramsey County J ramps are scheduled to close from May 9 to May 14.
This project is expected to be completed early in June, and traffic will be returned to its four-lane configuration as crews finish the shoulder paving, paving tie-ins at each end of the project and removal of all temporary bypasses. However, some off-peak lane closures may be scheduled through late June, 2012.
Work on the southbound lanes of I-35E was completed last year in the same area.
