Hwy 169/I-494 traffic signal reactivation rescheduled for tonight due to inclement weather
Overnight traffic switch and lane closures also re-scheduled

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Inclement weather has delayed the northbound Hwy 169 traffic switch and reactivation of the traffic light until the evening of Friday, March 30.  Beginning at 7 p.m., crews will begin to reroute northbound traffic to the east side of the freeway at the interchange. During that time, motorists on northbound Hwy 169 in Bloomington and Edina will encounter alternating lane closures between Anderson Lakes Parkway and Valley View Road.

All lanes of northbound Hwy 169 will reopen and the traffic signal will be back in operation by 6 a.m. Saturday, March 31.  The traffic signal will remain in operation through fall 2012. No other traffic signals at the interchange will be put back into service.

The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
