Overnight ramp closure scheduled for I- 494/Hwy 169
Hwy 169 lane closures also occur
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a detour on eastbound Interstate 494 when the ramp to southbound Hwy 169 closes at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13.
During the closure, motorists should follow the posted detour route:
Eastbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 100 to westbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 169
In addition, beginning at 9 p.m. Feb. 13, alternating lane closures will take place on southbound Hwy 169 between Valley View Road and Anderson Lakes Parkway/Bloomington Ferry Road.
The ramp and lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 Interchange Reconstruction project, the closures are necessary as crews place bridge beams above the roadway.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
