Southbound Hwy 169 lane closure scheduled for tonight
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists in Edina, Eden Prairie and Bloomington will experience delays as lane closures continue on southbound Highway 169 between Valley View Road and Anderson Lakes Parkway at 6 p.m. today.
Weather permitting, all lanes of southbound Highway 169 will reopen by 6 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, but the closures may need to continue during the day on Saturday. If inclement weather extends the closures, all lanes of southbound Highway 169 will re-open by 6 p.m. Saturday.
In addition, a daytime lane closure is scheduled in this same area for Monday, Dec. 10 and Tuesday, Dec. 11 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The closure is necessary as crews install a guardrail in the Highway 169 median as part of the Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project.
The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
