Additonal Hwy 169 daytime closures scheduled

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists in Edina, Eden Prairie and Bloomington may experience delays as lane closures continue on Highway 169 between Valley View Road and Anderson Lakes Parkway in Bloomington.

Beginning at 9 a.m. today the left lane of northbound Highway 169 will close between Interstate 494 and Valley View Road.  This closure is in addition to the previously scheduled lane closure for southbound Highway 169.

Then on Wednesday, Dec. 19, the left lane of southbound Highway 169 will close between Valley View Road and Anderson Lakes Parkway, also beginning at 9 a.m.

All lanes of Highway 169 will reopen by 3 p.m. each day of the closures Dec. 18 and 19.

The closures are necessary as crews continue guardrail installation along the freeway and remove construction barriers.

The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project rebuilt the current former expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
