Lane and ramp closures at Hwy 169/I-494 occur tonight
Westbound I-494 reduced to single lane
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays as ramp and lane closures occur at the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie overnight Monday, Nov. 19.
The loop ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close at 10 p.m. as crews continue to install pavement markings. During the closure, access from Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will be available via Hwy 212.
The loop ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Lane closures also are scheduled this evening for Hwy 169. The left lane of northbound Hwy 169 will close at 7 p.m. today between Anderson Lakes Parkway and Valley View Road as crews shift northbound traffic into its permanent configuration. Lane closures on Hwy 169 are also expected to occur overnight beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 in the same area as crews remove barriers and complete the traffic switch. All lanes of Hwy 169 will open by 7 a.m. each day following the closures.
In addition, lane closures in both directions of I-494 will occur between Prairie Center Drive and East Bush Lake Road beginning at 7 p.m. today. Westbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane overnight. All lanes of I-494 will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. The lane closures are necessary as crews install pavement markings.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
