Flyover ramp at Hwy 169/I-494 opening Oct. 4
Additional ramps opening soon

ROSEVILLE, Minn. –  Motorists will experience traffic changes at the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie over the coming days and weeks as the project heads toward completion.

The flyover ramp from eastbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 169 will open late on Oct. 4, weather permitting. Motorists should watch for overnight lane closures on eastbound I-494 near the interchange as crews prepare to open the ramp.

Additionally, several more ramps are scheduled to open in the coming weeks.  The flyover ramp from westbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 169 will open the week of Oct. 8 (weather permitting), followed by the new ramp from Marth Road to eastbound I-494, which is scheduled to open near the end of October.

When the flyover ramp from westbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 169 is opened, the traffic signal on northbound Hwy 169 will be deactivated. In addition, access to Hwy 169 from Highwood Drive will be eliminated when the new ramp from the frontage road to eastbound I-494 is opened.

The loop/ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close in mid-Oct. for approximately three weeks as crews reconstruct it.

The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
