New flyover ramp opening at Hwy 169/I-494 postponed
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Oct. 1 opening of the new flyover bridge from westbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 169 has been postponed in order to coordinate its opening with that of the ramp from eastbound I-494 to southbound Hwy 169.
Both of the ramps will open late on Oct. 2 or Oct. 3. The exact timing of the openings will be made available as the timeframe is finalized.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
