Hwy 169 lane closures scheduled for Dec. 11

 

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays on both directions of Highway 169 between Anderson Lakes Parkway and Valley View Road in Bloomington and Edina as lane closures occur Sunday, Dec. 11.

 

Alternating lane closures on southbound Highway 169 will begin at 9 a.m., and at noon the left lane of northbound Highway 169 will close.

 

The lane closures are needed as crews restripe and reroute southbound Highway 169 traffic onto all of the southbound lanes. Part of southbound Highway 169 was previously used for northbound traffic as Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction crews reconstructed the northbound lanes.

 

All lanes of Highway 169 will reopen by 5 p.m. Dec. 11.

 

The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
