Huron Boulevard ramp in Minneapolis to reclose Dec. 12

Noise wall installation work to be completed next week

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and a detour as the ramp from eastbound I-94 to Huron Boulevard in Minneapolis closes at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12.

During the ramp closure a detour will direct motorists to continue eastbound on I-94 and then use the Cretin Avenue/Vandalia Street interchange to access westbound I-94 and then Huron Boulevard.

The ramp closure is needed for completion of noise wall installation that began this week. The ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The current closure of the ramp will still be lifted by 5 p.m. today (Dec. 9) for the weekend.

The I-94 improvement project between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul includes resurfacing, which will create a smoother ride for motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway. The project also includes drainage improvements, bridge maintenance work, reconstruction of the shoulders, realignment of the lanes and smart lane technology to improve safety and congestion.
