UPDATE
Hwy 61/Vermillion Street lane reductions end Dec. 29
Work wraps up today as traffic signal is activated at 4th Street

(Roseville, Minn.) – Motorists traveling both directions of Hwy 61 south of the Hastings Bridge will encounter intermittent lane reductions on Thursday, Dec. 29 between the south end of the bridge and 7th Street.

Work will begin at 9 a.m. and temporary lane closures will occur as necessary as crews remove old signal poles and complete other peripheral work. All lanes of Hwy 61 will be open by 4:30 p.m.

The work and required lane reductions were originally scheduled to be completed Wednesday, Dec. 28. The new signal system was activated on Dec. 28 as the temporary signal at 5th Street was deactivated. Full access at Hwy 61/4th Street has been restored, returning the intersection to its original configuration as a primary downtown Hastings access point.

As is expected for the entire project, two-way traffic will remain across the river during rush hours, and access to local businesses and residences will not be affected.

Travelers and residents with questions are encouraged to call the Hastings Bridge Project Hotline at 651-775-5244 or visit the project’s web site at www.dot.state.mn.us/hastingsbridge.
