ST. PAUL, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a closure and detour at northbound Highway 169 and Highwood Drive in Bloomington as the right turn to eastbound Highwood Drive closes at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17.
Motorists should follow the posted detour routes:
Northbound Highway 169 to eastbound I-494 to southbound East Bush Lake Road to Highwood Drive
The closure will remain in place until 5 p.m., Nov. 17. Motorists will still be able to access northbound Highway 169 from westbound Highwood Drive during the closure.
Part of the Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is needed for crews to continue paving across Highwood Drive.
The Highway 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
