"Old Hwy 10" in Arden Hills closes this weekend for bridge removal

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Old Highway 10 (Ramsey County Road 76), a two-lane roadway which runs parallel to Highway 10 between Ramsey County Road 96 and southbound Snelling Avenue in Arden Hills, will close at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10 for removal of a portion of the eastbound I-694 bridge over the roadway.

 

The eastbound bridge is being replaced as part of the reconstruction of I-694 and Highway 10 at Snelling and Hamline Avenues in Arden Hills. During the bridge removal, eastbound I-694 will not be affected.

 

During the weekend closure, motorists should follow the signed detours.

 

Nightly closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day will continue through Wednesday, Oct. 26 on eastbound Highway 10 between Ramsey County Road 96 and I-694.

 

Major reconstruction at the interchange of Interstate 694 and Highway 10 at Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue in Arden Hills began on Monday, Sept. 19. The two-year project includes reconstruction of the surrounding roadways between I-35W and Victoria Street, along with the Island Lake bridges east of the interchange between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street.

 

In addition to rebuilding the surround highways, the project will rebuild bridges in the corridor and will improve safety and mobility.
