I-35E ramps to close in Eagan and Mendota Heights Oct. 20-21
Resurfacing and repair project nears completion
ROSEVILLE, Minn – Motorists may experience detours and delays on Interstate 35E as ramps close temporarily at two crossroads beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, Oct. 20.
The ramps from Hwy 110 to southbound I-35E, from Lone Oak Road to southbound I-35E and from northbound I-35E to Lone Oak Road will be close successively beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. The last ramp will open by 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21. The overnight closures are needed as crews complete striping and electrical work.
Following the first round of ramp closures, two more ramps will close during the day. Beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 the ramps from southbound I-35E to Lone Oak Road and from Lone Oak Road to northbound I-35E will close successively. The last ramp will open by 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.
Friday’s daytime closures are needed as crews complete the last of the resurfacing required for the I-35E resurfacing and repair project between Lone Oak Road in Eagan and Hwy 5/West Seventh Street in St. Paul.
The full project will be completed by November.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, extended pavement life, improved drainage and pedestrian crossings that meet modern accessibility standards.
