Highwood Avenue closure at Hwy 169 begins Oct. 24
Closure to remain for one week
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter a detour on northbound Hwy 169 in Bloomington as the right turn to eastbound Highwood Drive closes at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24.
Motorists should follow the posted detour routes:
- Northbound Hwy 169 to eastbound I-494 to southbound East Bush Lake Road to Highwood Drive
The closure will remain in place for approximately one week. Motorists will still be able to access northbound Hwy 169 from westbound Highwood Drive during the closure.
Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is needed as crews pave northbound Hwy 169 across Highwood Avenue.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
