Westbound I-694/Hwy 10 closing this weekend for interchange construction
Roadway closed, detoured between I-35Eand I-35W
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Demolition of the southbound Hamline Avenue Bridge over westbound Interstate 694 will require the closing of westbound Interstate 694 and Hwy 10 in Arden Hills, Shoreview and Little Canada this weekend.
Westbound I-694/Hwy 10 will be closed between I-35E and I-35W from 10 p.m. Friday Oct. 14 until 5 a.m. Monday Oct. 17. The ramp from northbound Snelling Avenue to westbound I-694 also will be closed.
Eastbound Hwy 10 and I-694 will remain open.
Westbound I-694/Hwy 10 traffic will detour south on I-35E, west on Hwy 36 and then north on I-35W. Northbound Snelling Avenue traffic will continue north on Hamline Avenue to westbound Ramsey County Road 96 and southbound I-35W.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Major reconstruction at the interchange of Interstate 694 and Hwy 10 at Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue in Arden Hills began on Monday, Sept. 19. The two-year project includes reconstruction of the surrounding roadways between I-35W and Victoria Street along with the Island Lake bridges east of the interchange between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street.
In addition to rebuilding the surround highways, the project will rebuild bridges in the corridor and will improve safety and mobility.
