I-35E lane and road closures pick up this week
ROSEVILLE, Minn – Non-rush hour lane closures on both directions of I-35E in Eagan and St. Paul began today as the project to rehabilitate the freeway between Lone Oak Road and West Seventh Street/Hwy 5 continues.
During the next two weeks motorists can expect sections of I-35E between Eagan and St. Paul to be reduced to two lanes during daytime non-rush hours and reduced to a single lane during nighttime hours.
Northbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between Lone Oak Road and Wagon Wheel Trail from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12.
Northbound I-35E is tentatively scheduled to close between Hwy 55 and West Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.
The ramp from Hwy 13 to southbound I-35E will be closed from 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13 through 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour.
The closures are needed as crews repair and resurface the roadway and make other improvements. When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, extended pavement life, improved drainage and improved pedestrian crossings that meet accessibility standards.
The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.
