Most of southbound I-35E in north metro reopening to two lanes later today
Both directions to remain single-lane at Anoka County 14 through mid-October
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Much of the segment of southbound I-35E between its northern junction with I-35 and I-35W in Columbus Township and Anoka County 96 will reopen to two lanes of traffic by 6 p.m. today.
However, both northbound and southbound traffic will remain reduced to a single lane just south of Anoka County Rd. 14 in Centerville through Oct. 15 as crews complete the installation of a new culvert beneath the roadway at that location.
Crews began this major reconstruction of I-35E between the northern junction and White Bear Lake this past May. Reconstructing the northbound lanes will begin in spring 2012.
The aim of the project is to provide a smoother ride and increase long-term durability for this section of the corridor.
