Chanhassen Hwy 101 closure begins Oct. 3

ROSEVILLE, Minn – Motorists traveling Hwy 101 in Chanhassen will experience delays and a detour as the roadway is closed between Hwy 14/Pioneer Trail and County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3.

The detour for southbound Hwy 101 will direct motorists to westbound Hwy 212 to southbound Hwy 41 to eastbound County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive and back to Hwy 101. Northbound motorists reverse the route.

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained from the south only. To reach local businesses and residences during the road closure, use northbound Hwy 101.

The road will reopen by Oct. 17.

The closures are needed as crews repair a 500-foot section of Hwy 101 that has a history of frost heaving. When complete, the project will result in a fully rebuilt section of road with an improved roadbed and drainage.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when navigating any work zone. More than 1,900 work zone crashes occurred in 2010.
