Hwy 169/I-494 roundabout open house scheduled for Oct. 15
Public invited to learn about roundabouts before part of the new frontage road system opens this fall
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Anyone interested in learning more about roundabouts before part of the new Hwy 169/Interstate 494 frontage road system opens this fall is invited to a roundabout open house on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The open house will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Braemar Golf Course in Edina, 6364 John Harris Drive. Project staff will be on hand at different stations to discuss the safety and design features of roundabouts, how to use roundabouts and to show visual displays. Attendees will also have the opportunity to drive a roundabout simulation set up in the parking lot of the site.
Four roundabouts (two on the north side of the interchange and two on the south side) will open to the public by this winter on part of the newly reconstructed frontage road “ring road” system. Two more roundabouts will open in 2012 when the frontage road reconstruction is completed.
