Overnight I-494 lane closures scheduled for Sept. 28, 29
Brief late-night full closures also to take place
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter lane closures on eastbound Interstate 494 between Prairie Center Drive and Hwy 169 beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 and again on Thursday, Sept. 29.
The roadway will be reduced to two lanes at 7 p.m. and reduced to one lane at 10 p.m. each day.
During both nights’ work, state troopers will stop I-494 traffic intermittently for approximately 15 minutes at a time between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. as crews place bridge beams directly above the freeway.
All lanes of I-494 will reopen at 5 a.m. each day following the closures.
Part of the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project, the closures are necessary as crews set bridge beams for the new Washington Avenue bridge spanning I-494.
