Eastbound I-94 traffic switch occurs tonight, Sept. 20
Center lane will reopen and right lane will close as work continues between the downtowns
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and a traffic switch as the center lane of eastbound I-94 between Hwy 55/Hiawatha Avenue and Hwy 280 in Minneapolis and St. Paul reopens and the outside lane closes overnight Tuesday, Sept. 20.
An additional left lane closure for the switch will begin at 7:30 p.m. Another lane will close from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. as crews work on restriping and setting up barriers. All lanes are expected to reopen by 6 a.m., Sept. 21.
Motorists should anticipate a different configuration using the newly reconstructed center lane Wednesday morning, Sept. 21. A small portion of the center lane of eastbound I-94 will remain closed near Hwy 280.
The center lane of westbound I-94 will remain closed. The traffic switch for westbound I-94 is anticipated within the next few weeks.
