Southbound I-35E ramp to Anoka County Road 14 closes Wednesday, Sept. 21
I-35E resurfacing continues in northern Twin Cities metro area

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – As concrete paving continues on southbound I-35E in Lino Lakes, the ramp from southbound I-35E to Anoka County Road 14 will close at 5 a.m.  Wednesday, Sept. 21.  The closure is needed as crews continue paving to tie in the freeway with the exit ramp.

During the closure, motorists will follow a signed detour to reach County Road 14. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible to avoid congestion and delays during the work.

The ramp is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

Traffic is currently a single lane in each direction on the northbound side of I-35E between Ramsey County Road 96 and the I-35E/I-35W split in Columbus, just south of Forest Lake, as crews resurface the southbound interstate. Work on southbound I-35E will be completed in mid-October. Crews will return next spring to resurface northbound I-35E in the same area.

This project aims to provide a long-term solution to the existing roadway. The existing pavement will be removed from the concrete below and replaced with a 10-inch concrete overlay, which will provide durability and a smoother ride.
