Long-term I-694/Hwy 10/ Snelling Avenue/Hamline Avenue improvements
begin Sept. 19
Sept. 15 open house will outline details of the project
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Long-awaited, major reconstruction of the I- 694/Hwy 10 interchange at Snelling Avenue (Hwy 51) and Hamline Avenue in Arden Hills begins Monday, Sept. 19.
The two-year project includes reconstruction of the surrounding roadways between I-35W and Victoria Street, along with the Island Lake bridges east of the interchange between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street.
In addition to rebuilding the surround highways, the project will rebuild bridges in the corridor and will improve safety and mobility.
During this fall’s construction, motorists may encounter delays as crews construct bypasses to carry traffic during next year’s work. Southbound Hamline Avenue also will close between Ramsey County Road F and I-694. The ramp from Hamline Avenue to eastbound
I-694 also will close permanently.
Planned improvements will be highlighted at an informational meeting from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at Arden Hills City Hall, 1245 West County Road 96 in Arden Hills.
Layouts and graphics of the improvements will be displayed during the informal open house. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Ramsey County and the city of Arden Hills will be in attendance to answer questions. There will be no formal presentation.
