Washington Avenue scheduled to close Aug. 26
Hwy 169/Interstate 494 project continues forward
ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Motorists will encounter a closure and detour when Washington Avenue closes at Viking Drive/West 78th Street in Edina/Eden Prairie at 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26.
Access to W. 78th Street/Viking Drive from southbound Hwy 169 will not be available during the closure. Access to businesses on Washington Avenue and Viking Drive will be maintained on a gravel surface during the road closure.
Motorists should follow the posted detour routes:
- Washington Avenue: Eastbound Viking Drive to northbound Golden Triangle Drive to eastbound W. 76th Street to Washington Avenue
- Viking Drive: Washington Avenue to westbound W. 76th Street to southbound Golden Triangle Drive to Viking Drive
Washington Avenue will remain closed for approximately two months.
Part of the Hwy 169/Interstate 494 interchange reconstruction project, the closure is necessary as crews begin roundabout construction in the area.
