Overnight Hwy 169 lane closures scheduled for Aug. 1
ROSEVILLE, Minn. —Hwy 169 motorists in the northwest metro area will experience delays as both directions of Hwy 169 at Hwy 610 are reduced to a single lane overnight Monday, Aug. 1.
Southbound Hwy 169 will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 8 p.m. and northbound Hwy 169 will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Part of the Hwy 610 addition project, the lane closures are needed as crews continue to reconstruct the interchange at Hwy 169 and Hwy 610.
The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane Hwy between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities motorists. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.
MnDOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
