DETOUR ROUTES REVISED
I- 35E to close overnight August 22-24
Crews will place beams for new Duckwood Drive interchange
ROSEVILLE, Minn – Motorists will encounter delays on I-35E in Eagan on three consecutive nights beginning Monday, Aug. 22 as lane, ramp and full road closures occur between Lone Oak Road and Diffley Road.
On Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 22-23 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., southbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between Lone Oak Road and Diffley Road. The ramp from Pilot Knob Road to southbound I-35E will also be closed. Following the lane and ramp closures, southbound I-35E will be fully closed at Pilot Knob Road from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. A detour will direct motorists south on Pilot Knob Road, then west on Diffley Road to I-35E.
On Wednesday, Aug. 24 motorists can expect the following: Northbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between Diffley Road and Pilot Knob Road from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.. All lanes of northbound I-35E will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. The ramp from northbound I-35E to Pilot Knob Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. A detour will route I-35E traffic around the Work Zone via the ramps between northbound I-35E and Pilot Knob Road.
Pilot Knob Road will also be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. A detour will direct local traffic along Duckwood Drive, Lexington Avenue and Yankee Doodle Road.
The closures are needed as crews place bridge beams for the new I-35E/Duckwood Drive interchange located just south of Pilot Knob Road. The project is being led by the city of Eagan.
