Hwy 8 resurfacing project begins June 13
Roseville, Minn. — Motorists will encounter delays on Hwy 8 between Interstate 35 in Forest Lake and Chisago County Road 80 (Karmel Lane) in Chisago City beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, June 13. Crews will resurface the roadway.
The roadway will remain open to two lanes of traffic during the resurfacing project. Work hours are from 8 a.m. to dusk Mondays through Fridays. Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic through each day’s work zone.
Motorists, residents and businesses with driveways along Hwy 8 are required to wait and follow the pilot car before entering any work zone on Hwy 8 during the work hours mentioned above.
Ramp closures will occur as well at Hwy 61 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Traffic will be detoured to Hwy 97.
Work is scheduled to be completed by mid-July.
The project will result in a smoother ride and extend the pavement life.
