I-494 weekend closures scheduled
Roseville, Minn. — Motorists may encounter delays at the Hwy 52/I-494 interchange in Inver Grove Heights as I-494 closures occur this weekend.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, June 10 all three lanes of eastbound I-494 will close between Robert Trail and Hwy 52 as crews work on the south side of the Hwy 52 bridges spanning I-494. A detour will direct motorists along the Robert Trail exit, to the single-lane eastbound ramp, to eastbound I-494.
After work is completed on the south side of the Hwy 52 bridges, all three lanes of westbound I-494 will be closed between the Blaine Avenue overpass and Hwy 52. Traffic will be detoured along the single-lane westbound I-494 ramps and back to westbound I-494.
All lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, June 13.
The closures are part of a project to rehabilitate the Hwy 52 bridges between I-494 in Inver Grove Heights and the Mississippi River in St. Paul. The project also includes drainage improvements, cable median barrier installation and other needed work along the roadway.
