Overnight lane closures scheduled for Hwy 61
Some noise expected
Roseville, Minn. — Hwy 61 motorists traveling through Hastings may experience delays beginning June 8 when the roadway is reduced to a single lane between Spiral Bridge Road, near Hub’s Landing, and Third Street in Downtown Hastings.
The lane closure will take place between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8 and again on Thursday, June 9 through Friday, June 10. A flagging crew will control traffic to allow for alternating traffic across the bridge during the closure. There will be noise associated with this work as crews will drive sheet piling (large steel plating) into the ground using a vibratory hammer.
The lane reconfiguration is needed for work on the new bridge’s south approach.
As is expected for the entire project, two-way traffic will remain across the river during non-peak travel times, and access to local businesses and residences will not be affected.
