Zachary Lane in Maple Grove to reopen by midnight tonight

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Zachary Lane in Maple Grove is scheduled to reopen to traffic by midnight tonight.  A portion of Zachary Lane has been closed since early May as crews constructed two double-lane roundabouts, which will provide access to the new Hwy 610.

The new roundabouts will open to a single lane of traffic for northbound and southbound Zachary Lane and access at 96th Avenue tonight.  Full use of the double-lane roundabouts will occur once the project is complete and the Hwy 610 access ramps are opened to traffic.

The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities motorists. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.  For real-time traveler information anywhere in Minnesota visit www.511mn.org.
