Southbound Hwy 169 lane closure scheduled for June 24-25

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists may experience delays on Friday, June 24 when southbound Hwy 169 is reduced to a single lane at 8 p.m. between 101st Avenue and 93rd Avenue North (County Road 30) in Brooklyn Park.

The lane closure is needed as crews work to reconstruct the interchange at Hwy 169 and Hwy 610, part of the new Hwy 610 construction project.

The closed lane will reopen by 5 p.m. Saturday, June 25.

The new Hwy 610 alignment includes nearly three miles of four-lane highway between Hwy 169 in Brooklyn Park and County Road 81 in Maple Grove. The project includes two interchanges, three overpasses, a pedestrian bridge and noisewalls. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July 2011 and will improve mobility for northwestern Twin Cities motorists. For more information on the Hwy 610 project, call the project information line at 1-866-610-5480, or visit the project page at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/610/.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.  For real-time traveler information anywhere in Minnesota visit www.511mn.org.
