Westbound I-694/I-94 scheduled to close June 24-27
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and detours as westbound I-694 and I-94 close at Hwy 252 in Brooklyn Center beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 24.
During the closure motorists will be detoured to northbound Hwy 252, westbound Hwy 610 and southbound Hwy 169 to access westbound I-694/I-94.
In addition, the ramp from southbound Hwy 252 to westbound I-694 will also close. Motorists will be detoured to eastbound I-94, westbound I-394 and northbound Hwy 169 to access westbound I-694.
When approaching lane closures during heavy traffic or when there are backups, motorists are advised to use both lanes up to the point where the lanes actually close in order to minimize backups and increase safety. When approaching lane closures during light traffic conditions if there are no backups, motorists are advised to merge well in advance of the lane closure in order to eliminate late merges at high speeds and avoid subsequent safety concerns.
The closures are needed for continued bridge painting in the area. All lanes and ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, June 27.
